
Macon Knights Launch Reading Club

MACON, Ga. â The Macon Knights are proud to announce the launch the first-ever Macon Knights Reading Club. The Knights have teamed with the Bibb County Elementary Schools as well as Perdue and Morningside Elementary Schools in Houston County to help encourage children to read and reward them for their achievements.
The Reading Club is an eight-week program offered to third through fifth grade students at the participating elementary schools. At the end of the program, students will receive prizes from the Knights and their sponsors. At the Knights April 14th game vs. Birmingham, the one student from Bibb County and one student from Houston County will be awarded with a scholarship for being the top reader in their county.
"We're extremely excited about launching the Reading Club and want to thank all the schools for participating," said Jon Pickett, Director of Public Relations for the Knights. "This program is a great way for the Knights to give back to the community and invest in future of the children of Middle Georgia."
The Knights have plans to expand the program next year to schools throughout the Middle Georgia area.
