Pink the Rink Night Friday

Lafayette, LA-On Friday night the IceGators will take to the ice to fight breast cancer. The 'Gators are going to wear pink jerseys which will be auctioned off after the game to raise money for breast cancer awareness.

"Breast cancer affects everyone," stated assistant General Manager Ron Handy. "With one in eight women getting breast cancer, it affects not only the women, but their friends and families."

Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, is the global leader of the breast cancer movement. Since the inception in 1982, $1.5 billion have been raised. Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists. They are working to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. They are the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.

The 'Gators hit the ice in Blackham Coliseum on Friday, February 19 at 7:05 to take on the Columbus Cottonmouths. The game against the Cottonmouths is important in the playoff future for the IceGators.
