Pilots Blank Mohawk Valley for Win

June 28, 2018 - Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL)
Newark Pilots News Release

A solid outing from Pilots pitchers paired with timely hitting added up to a 6-1 win over the Mohawk Valley Diamond Dawgs at Colburn Park.

The right hander from Georgetown, TX Trent Baker was stellar on the mound for the Pilots, picking up the win in 6 IP, giving up only 1 run on 4 hits.

As we have seen time and time again, Allen Murphy was the key player at the plate for a Newark team that was in search of their sixth win of the season. Murphy was 3-4 with the 3 RBI's, coming across to score twice as well.

It was already a 4-1 lead for the Pilots when Murphy drove a pitch into left center field that would bring in 2 more runs for the Pilots, extending their lead to 6-1.

With the Pilots in the driver seat, Ryan Winn and Matt Walczak would combine to only give up 1 hit in 3 innings of relief, securing the home side victory.

The Pilots will stay at home for a western division matchup with the red hot Jamestown Jammers tomorrow night at Colburn Park.
