HIGHLIGHTS

Phoenix Rising broke through the scoreless deadlock in the 21st minute. Following a mad scramble in the box, the ball kicked out into space near the top of the box. Aguinaga got into the open space and with his first touch sent a grass-cutter inside the far right post to make it 1-0.

El Paso's Edson Partido made it 1-1 just five minutes later and both clubs were barrelling toward a 1-1 halftime score.
