Phoenix Rising Forward Solomon Asante Named USL Player of the Week

PHOENIX - Phoenix Rising forward Solomon Asante was named the USL Player of the Week for Week 16 of the 2019 USL Championship season the league announced today. His teammates, forward Adam Jahn, and goalkeeper Zac Lubin, earned honorable mentions.
Asante scored three goals and notched an assist across two wins this past week. The forward scored one goal and had an assist in the club's 3-0 win over Reno 1868 FC last Tuesday and he notched a brace in the club's 4-1 win over OKC Energy FC last Saturday.
Jahn scored a goal against Reno 1868 FC and provided an assist on one of Asante's goals against OKC Energy FC. Lubin had a five-save shutout against Reno 1868 FC and made five additional saves against OKC Energy FC. For the week, Lubin went 2-0-0 with 10 saves and a clean sheet.
This is the second time this season a Rising player has been named the USL Player of the Week. Adam Jahn received the honor in Week 10. This is also the 11th week this season a Rising FC player has been recognized by the league and the fifth time Asante has received a league honor in 2019 (most on the team).
Phoenix Rising is back at Casino Arizona Field for Winter in June this Saturday, June 29, to square up with Portland Timbers 2. The match is scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. and gates open at 6 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets by heading to PHXRisingFC.com.
