Phoenix Rising FC News Release
PHOENIX - Phoenix Rising FC extended its win streak to 12 matches following a thrilling come-from-behind 3-2 win over LA Galaxy II in Carson, Calif. Joey Calistri notched the game winner in the 83rd minute to cap off three unanswered goals from the club (Solomon Asante and Junior Flemmings scored the other two goals). It was also the clubs sixth straight win on the road (a USL Championship record) and its sixth straight win over Los Dos.

Phoenix Rising extends its league record consecutive win streak to 12 matches.
Phoenix Rising wins its sixth straight road game, a league record.
Los Dos held a 2-0 lead after EfraÃn Ãlvarez converted his penalty kick in the 52nd minute. But it took just six minutes for Rising FC's comeback to begin.
In the 58th minute, Asante intercepted a lazy pass in the defensive third, then danced around the Los Dos goalkeeper to cut the lead in half.
Phoenix Rising then equalized in the 74th minute. After LA tried to clear out a throw in, the ball took a bounce to Jon Bakero, who backheeled a pass to an oncoming Flemmings. The forward calmly finished his shot to make it 2-2.
The game winner also was the result of a fortuitous bounce. After a corner kick was cleared, Bakero sent a cross back into the box. After one 50/50 sent the ball into the air, a Los Dos defender headed the ball in an attempt to clear it out of the box. But Calistri was there, swinging his right leg to strike the ball into the ground and bounce it into the back of the net in the 83rd minute.
Phoenix Rising returns home to Casino Arizona Field on Saturday, August 10th, for a showdown with El Paso Locomotive FC. The match is scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
