New Mexico United News Release
(ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico) The 45-minute rain delay Saturday evening didn't dampen the spirit of the 14,000 plus New Mexico United fans, as they cheered on their squad to a 2:2 draw with Austin Bold FC.
Daniel Bruce struck early for New Mexico United (5'), when Chris Wehan, following a brilliant run, found him in the middle of the box. The visitors equaled in the 31st minute when Xavier Baez corner found Amobi Okugo.
United struck again early in the second half, when Santi Moar passed a beauty across the face of goal, and Kevaughn Frater tucked it away clinically. The lead held for almost twenty minutes, but an Austin corner bounced around dangerously in the box, and Okugo slipped it past United Goalkeeper Cody Mizell to equalize.
United dominated possession in the second half, and put 5 total shots on frame, but could not find the winner in the final 30 minutes.
Up Next: United are back on the road, and will travel to Portland on August 11th.
