PHOENIX ¬" The Phoenix Mercury today announced its 2011 preseason schedule, which includes two games ¬" one home and one at a neutral site in a non-WNBA market. The Mercury first hosts the JX Sunflowers, 2010 champions of the Women's Japan Basketball League at US Airways center on Tuesday, May 24 at 7 p.m. The club will round out its preseason slate against Los Angeles in Albuquerque at the University of New Mexico ¬â¢s arena, ¬ÅThe Pit, ¬Â on Saturday, May 28 at 6 p.m.

The Mercury, one of the eight original WNBA clubs, is part of the longest running professional women ¬â¢s team sports league in the United States. The team will tip off season 15 on June 4 on the road against the defending WNBA Champion Seattle Storm. The club ¬â¢s home opener is on June 17 against conference rival San Antonio.
