Lancaster Stormers News Release
Susquehanna Valley native LeSean McCoy, the Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro running back, is scheduled to throw the ceremonial first pitch as the Lancaster Barnstormers open the 2012 season on Tuesday, May 1st. Proceeds from McCoy's appearance will be directed to the LeSean McCoy Foundation to raise funds and awareness for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. McCoy's grandmother, Maryann Branch, recently succumbed to ALS.
The Barnstormers will have a private reception for the Philadelphia Eagles star and his fans in the Wheatland Suite on the stadium's upper level. Entry to this private reception will be $100 and will include dinner and a ticket to the Barnstormers home opener against the Somerset Patriots. The Barnstormers will donate $50 from each reception ticket purchased to the LeSean McCoy Foundation. Tickets are limited and are on sale now. To purchase tickets for this very special event, go to www.LancasterBarnstormers.com or call 717 509-2031.
"I have established the LeSean McCoy Foundation with two primary goals," McCoy said. "I want to lead the charge to find a cure for ALS, which my grandmother bravely fought, and I want to help the disadvantaged youth of Harrisburg and Central Pennsylvania. My appearance with the Barnstormers will help me address both of these important goals." The Barnstormers will donate 100 tickets to disadvantaged youth groups in Lancaster on McCoy's behalf.
"The Barnstormers' organization is ecstatic that one of the greatest players in the National Football League, LeSean McCoy, will be joining us for our Opening Day festivities," said Senior Director of Marketing, Anthony DeMarco. "We look forward to a very special Opening Day Program with LeSean and his family on Tuesday, May 1st at Clipper Magazine Stadium." Fans can direct a portion of $11 Field Box tickets to the LeSean McCoy Foundation by following the links on the Barnstormers website or by calling 717 509-4487.
