
Pheasants Shut out Gary Southshore in Game One

The Sioux Falls Pheasants shut out the Gary SouthShore RailCats, 2-0, in game one of a doubleheader on Saturday at Sioux Falls Stadium. Game two will start shortly.
Peter Gehle (3-3) led the way with five scoreless innings pitched. Kyle Mertins tossed a scoreless sixth, and Cody Evans' perfect ninth earned him his sixth save of the year. Jonny Kaplan had an RBI double and Jared Bolden drove in a run with a sacrifice bunt in the third inning for the Pheasants' scoring.
