Phantoms Set to Battle Muskegon in First Round of the Playoffs

YOUNGSTOWN, OH- The matchups for the first round of the 2015 Clark Cup Playoffs are set, with the Youngstown Phantoms set to take on the Muskegon Lumberjacks beginning Wednesday night in Muskegon. The Phantoms are the top seed in the USHL overall, while the Lumberjacks are fourth in the Eastern Conference.

The first round will be a 1-2-1-1 format, with Muskegon hosting games one and four, and the Phantoms hosting games two, three, and five. Each round of the Clark Cup Playoffs is a best-of-five series, with games four and five being played if necessary.

These two sides are no stranger to one another, having met six times in the regular season. The Phantoms posted a 4-1-1 record against the Lumberjacks this season, with four of the six games decided by two or fewer goals. They last met on April 4th, with the Phantoms picking up a 5-1 win at home. Youngstown's Kyle Connor led all scorers in the series, totaling six goals and five assists for 11 total points. Goaltender Chris Birdsall won the goaltending battle, posting a 2-0-1 record along with a .97 goals-against average, and a .964 save percentage.
