ANN ARBOR, Mich. -The Youngstown Phantoms notched their first victory of the preseason Sunday afternoon at the Ice Cube. The Phantoms avenged a tough loss to Team USA the night before with 4-3 win in the weekend finale.

Four different players - Cameron Heath, Sam Anas, Kale Bennett and Austin Cangelosi - scored for Youngstown. In net Sean Romeo made 17 saves, backstopping the Phantoms to a weekend split with Team USA.

"We did really good job of keeping control today," head coach Anthony Noreen said. "We never really got too high or too low and we were consistent with our effort and our energy. From the drop of the puck, there was never a big letdown out of our guys."

Heath put the Phantoms up 1-0 just eight minutes into the game. The first-year blue liner jumped up in the play and banged the puck home from the front of the net, off a feed from Mac MacSorley, for his first goal of the preseason.

Anas gave the Phantoms a two-goal cushion midway through the second period when Cangelosi set him up on a mini-breakaway. He went in alone and beat goaltender Blake Weyrick to make it 2-0 at the 10:34 mark.

"The line of Cange, Sammy and Todd [Koritzinsky] did a great job. We expect them to do a ton for us this year," Noreen said. "Last night they were a little bit off timing-wise on some of their plays, but I thought they were better today. They started to connect on some of the plays we're used to seeing them connect on."

Ryan MacInnis brought Team USA within one with 5:08 remaining in the period, but Bennett responded a little over a minute later to put the Phantoms back up two. With just 50 seconds remaining in the period, though, Jack Eichel beat Romeo to make it a one-goal game heading into the third period.

Cangelosi put the game out of reach 8:12 into the third when he threw a puck on net that redirected off a Team USA defender and found a way in. Eichel responded with his second of the day a little more than two minutes later, but the Phantoms and Romeo were able to stave off the National Team for the remainder of regulation to secure the win.
