Youngstown Phantoms News Release
YOUNGSTOWN, OH - When the Youngstown Phantoms decided to host a Prom Night Game, they wanted to provide prom related businesses a platform to showcase their services to fans. What they did not expect, was to include Kyrsten's Kloset.
The organization, which was started in Hubbard, OH, started when family members and friends of Kyrsten Studer got together to think of a way to celebrate her life. Kyrsten was only 14-years-old when she was the innocent victim of a pedestrian automobile accident in 2003.
This weekend, Kyrsten's Kloset will host an event for young ladies who are looking for a free dress, on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at St. Patrick's Parish Center in Hubbard.
"Since the driver in my sister's accident was under the influence, the primary focus of our event is not only to provide young girls the opportunity to have a dream dress, but to make them aware of the horrible consequences that come with driving intoxicated," said event organizer Sarah Studer.
After the event, the foundation will need to restock on its inventory. This is where Phantom fans can help. Fans who donate a gently worn formal gown to Kyrsten's Kloset at the April 4 Prom Night Game against the Muskegon Lumberjacks will receive a free ticket to the last regular season home game on April 11 against Team USA.
Since inception, the foundation has been committed to remembering Kyrsten's life, while providing services to the community, including providing free prom dresses.
Tickets are on sale for all Phantoms home games at the Covelli Centre starting at the low price of $10.75 for single game tickets. The Phantoms also offer group ticket packages, and a special McDonald's Family and Friends deal, where you will receive four tickets, four hats, and four medium extra value meals for the low price of $39.99.
