(PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 22, 2002) - Peter White and Mark Greig each recorded four points to lead the Philadelphia Phantoms to a 6-5 overtime win over the Milwaukee Admirals tonight in front of a season-high crowd of 9,683 at the First Union Spectrum.

Greig, who re-joined the Phantoms today after a four-game stint with the Flyers, finished with a goal and three assists, while White had three goals and an assist. The duo single-handedly accounted for the winning goal 2:38 into overtime as Greig came up with a loose puck by the far boards and centered it to White. The veteran center fired a shot on goal that bounded off and over Milwaukee goaltender Jan Lasak before trickling over the goal line.

White netted his first three goals for Philadelphia since being reacquired from the Chicago Blackhawks last week. He now has nine goals on the year and recorded his first hat trick as a Phantom since Dec. 18, 1996 vs. Carolina.

Rookie goaltender Antero Niittymaki picked up the win by making 19 saves. His counterpart Jan Lasak stopped 25 shots.

Philadelphia jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Andre Savage and White less than two minutes apart in the first period. Patrick Sharp set up the first goal at the 8:16 mark during a power play when he skated through a pair of Admirals in the neutral zone before finding Savage on the wing. The center moved in a stride and uncorked a wrister that sailed past Lasak for his fourth goal of the year.

White doubled the lead with 9:51 to go when he took a centering pass from Greig and fired a high slap shot into the back of the net. It was White's first goal since rejoining the Phantoms and seventh of the year. Greig extended his current point streak to eight games.

Milwaukee struck back with a trio of goals in just over three minutes late in the opening period. Simpson put the Admirals on the board with 3:24 left when he volleyed in his own miss from the side of the net for his first of the season.

Greg Classen evened the score at the 19:00 mark on a breakaway and Simpson netted his second of the game with 15 seconds remaining to make it 3-2 when he deflected in a shot from the point by Pascal Trepanier.

The score remained the same for the first 14-plus minutes of the second period until Jim Vandermeer tallied his first goal of the year on the power play. Savage began the play in the corner with a pass out to David Harlock, who sent a cross-ice pass to Vandermeer just inside the blue line.

Philadelphia assumed a 4-3 lead with 2:54 to go in the period when White set up Greig for a breakaway. The team captain was denied on his initial shot, but Lasak could not cover the puck and Greig was able to reach over him and outfight a Milwaukee defenseman to barely nudge it over the goal line. Greig's 11th tally of the season extended his current goal-scoring streak to six games.

Milwaukee answered again 4:30 into the third period on Konstantin Panov's third goal of the year. Greg Classen fed Panov from behind the net for a wrister that beat Niittymaki stick side and knotted the score at 4-4.

The Admirals took a 5-4 lead at the 11:01 mark when Classen beat Niittymaki to the puck behind the net and found Jonas Andersson for an easy score. But Greig and White retaliated with 3:56 remaining to force overtime. Greig placed a shot on Lasak from the far boards and White was there to follow it in.

The Phantoms are back in action on Saturday when they travel to take on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at 7:05 p.m. Philadelphia is at home next week on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. vs. the Rochester Americans and on Friday at 7:05 p.m. vs. the Hershey Bears.

Phantoms Notes: White's goal was his first as a Phantom since Feb. 18, 2000, when he netted Philadelphia's lone goal in a 5-1 loss to the Hershey Bears ... Savage's goal was the first for Philadelphia against Milwaukee. Last season, the Admirals twice shut out the Phantoms during its first season in the AHL ... The 11 combined goals is a season high for a Phantoms game.
