
Phantoms D T.J. Brennan Named to 2016-17 AHL First All-Star Team

Lehigh Valley, PA - The Lehigh Valley Phantoms, proud AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, are pleased to announce that defenseman T.J. Brennan has been named to the 2016-17 AHL First All-Star Team. A four-time AHL All-Star, this is the third time Brennan has been recognized on the AHL's First All-Star Team (2014, 2016, 2017).

A 28-year-old blueliner from Moorestown, New Jersey, Brennan is in the midst of his eighth professional season and currently leads all Phantoms and is third among all AHL defenders in total scoring with 55 points (20 goals, 35 assists). He enters the weekend tops about all AHL defensemen in goals (20) and power play conversions (11) and is second in both power play points (27) and shots on goal (203).
A veteran of 514 career AHL outings, Brennan has compiled an impressive 133 goals, 241 assists and 374 total points throughout his decorated career. He is one of just two defenders in AHL history with three 20-goal campaigns.
Each All-Star Team member will receive a custom-designed crystal award in recognition of his selection to the 2016-17 AHL First and Second All-Star Teams.
The Phantoms continue their push towards the 2017 Calder Cup Playoffs with two games at PPL Center this weekend. Lehigh Valley returns to the frozen surface this Friday, April 7 as it welcomes the rival Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to downtown Allentown for a 7:05 p.m. clash. The Phantoms can clinch a berth in the 2017 Calder Cup Playoffs with a win on Friday coupled with a regulation loss by the Hershey Bears that evening in their showdown at the Rochester Americans.
Then, on Saturday, April 8, the Phantoms host the Springfield Thunderbirds in a 7:05 p.m. tilt at PPL Center. Saturday's game features a Phantoms Wall Cling Giveaway free to the first 2,500 kids 14 and under presented by PSECU.
