Phantoms Announce Preseason Schedule

(PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 21, 2002) - The Philadelphia Phantoms will get ready for the 2002-03 American Hockey League season with four exhibition games this fall. The preseason schedule commences on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 1:15 p.m., when Philadelphia hosts the Albany River Rats at Sovereign Bank Flyers Skate Zone at Voorhees.

Philadelphia and Albany will meet again on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, N.J. The game will precede an NHL exhibition game between the teams' two parent clubs - the Philadelphia Flyers and New Jersey Devils - at 7:30 p.m.

The Phantoms are back in action at home on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 4:30 p.m., when they take on the Norfolk Admirals at Polonia Bank Flyers Skate Zone at Northeast. The preseason schedule then wraps up on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 4:00 p.m. as Philadelphia travels to take on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at the Arena at Harbor Yard.

Phantoms preseason home games are open to the public and cost $10 per person, with a portion of the proceeds going to youth hockey programs. Tickets can be purchased at the respective Flyers Skate Zones, or by calling 856-309-4400 (Voorhees) or 215-618-0050 (Northeast).

The Phantoms will open the 2002-03 regular season on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7:05 p.m., when they host the Rochester Americans at the First Union Spectrum.
