PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Beavers and Portland General Electric (PGE) are teaming up to celebrate the nation's independence on Saturday, July 4, with a host of special activities - highlighted by a post-game fireworks show - as the Beavers play host to the Colorado Springs Sky Sox at PGE Park. Additionally, the first 1,903 fans in attendance will receive a Beavers patriotic cap.

The traditional fireworks show will follow the conclusion of the game and will originate from the center field area of PGE Park. First pitch is 7:05 p.m., and gates open at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets for the game, which annually draws one of the largest crowds of the season, are available at the PGE Park box office, located at 1844 S.W. Morrison, or through area Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at (800) 745-3000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Advanced tickets range from $8 to $14.50.

Additionally, the Beavers are offering a special $35 ticket for the July 4 game that includes seating in the exclusive Left Field Lounge near the Beavers dugout and an all-you-can-eat menu of hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, cookies and soft drinks (through the bottom of the sixth inning). These tickets are available by calling the Beavers ticket office at (503) 553-5555.

As part of PGE's celebration of Oregon's 150th year of statehood, the PGE Foundation will present a check for $50,000 to the Oregon Food Bank at the game for emergency food support for low-income families. PGE will also present a host of lucky row giveaways at the July 4 game.

"PGE is excited to celebrate our nation's independence and Oregon's 150th birthday," said Kregg Arntson, PGE community affairs manager. "The Fourth of July event at PGE Park will be a great place for us to honor our customers, employees and Beavers fans for their volunteer efforts and for taking care of this beautiful state we call home."

Saturday's game kicks off a four-game series at PGE Park between the Beavers and Sky Sox.
