COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Pacific Coast League today announced Kevin Howard of the Las Vegas 51s has been named PCL Player of the Week and Kyle Davies of the Omaha Royals the PCL Pitcher of the Week for the week of June 22-28

Howard joined the 51s in mid-May after being traded from the San Diego Padres to the Toronto Blue Jays. In 51 games this year in the PCL with Portland (Padres Triple-A affiliate) and Las Vegas the Thousand Oaks, California resident is hitting .287 with four home runs and 25 RBI and currently has an 11-game hitting streak. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the fifth round of the 2002 MLB draft.

Davies, a Georgia native was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the fourth round out of Stockbridge (Ga.) High school in the 2001 MLB draft and was traded to the Kansas City Royals for Octavio Dotel during the 2007 season. The right-hander held Memphis scoreless on June 25th, tossing eight innings and striking out eight Redbirds hitters and walking only one. It was his first start for the O-Royals after starting the season with Kansas City.

The 2009 Cricket Wireless Triple-A All-Star Game will be celebrating its 22nd year this season, featuring the top players from Minor League Baseball's top two leagues and will be broadcast to a national television audience live from Portland, Oregon, on Wednesday, July 15, on ESPN2 at 7:00 PDT (10:00 EDT).
