
Pfaff Named Ducks President/General Manager

(Central Islip, N.Y., Jan. 13, 2011) - Michael Pfaff, general manager of the Long Island Ducks, has been promoted to President/General Manager of the Atlantic League ballclub. In his new capacity, Pfaff will continue to report directly to team Founder/CEO Frank Boulton.
"I am proud to announce that we are elevating Michael Pfaff to President/General Manager of the Long Island Ducks Professional Baseball Club," says Boulton. "Michael has been with our organization for eight years as the Director of Media Relations, Assistant General Manager and in 2006 was named General Manager. He has certainly earned this promotion and his leadership is evident in every aspect of our business. His dedication to the Long Island Ducks is unparalleled."
Since being named GM, Pfaff has twice earned Atlantic League Executive of the Year honors (2008 & 2010), been named to the Long Island Business News 40 Under 40 Class of 2009 and hosted the league's All-Star Game. In 2007, the club garnered Independent Organization of the Year honors from Baseball America.
The Ducks 2010 season average of 6,038 fans per game was 36 over Suffolk County Sports Park's 6,002-seat capacity and marked the 11th consecutive season the team had led all of independent baseball in total attendance.
Prior to joining the Ducks in 2002, Pfaff spent seven years at the National Football League Commissioner's Office in New York City. During his time at the NFL, he was assigned to work two AFC Championship games, three Super Bowls and six NFL Drafts.
