Petes Acquire Forward Kallaway Mercer from the Kingston Frontenacs

(Peterborough, ON) - Peterborough Petes General Manager Michael Oke announced today the team has acquired left-shot forward Kallaway Mercer and a conditional 15th round pick in 2025 from the Kingston Frontenacs in exchange for North Bay Battalion's 15th round pick in 2024.

Mercer, a 2002-born left winger, was selected in the 9th round, 173 overall by the Frontenacs in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection. The 5'10", 168 lbs Port Hope native has registered four goals, three assists, seven points, and 26 penalty minutes in 83 games, all with the Frontenacs.

"We're excited to welcome Kallway to the organization and to kick training camp off next week," stated Oke.

Mercer scored his first OHL goal against the Petes on Thursday, November 22, 2018, in the Frontenacs' 8-2 loss at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.

The Petes will welcome the Sudbury Wolves and first overall draft pick Quentin Musty for their home opener on Thursday, October 14 at 7:05 pm. Tickets are now on sale for the 2021-22 season.
