Peterson Joins Flames as Director of Marketing and Promotions

Moline, IL- The Quad City Flames announced today that Michael Peterson has been hired to serve as the team's Director of Marketing and Promotions. His role will focus on promoting the Flames in the Quad City community while continuing to develop the team's game-night entertainment.

Peterson brings an extensive background at various levels of the sports industry to the Flames organization. After earning a spot on Minnesota's All-State High School Basketball Team, he attended Southwest State University in Marshall, Minnesota. Peterson went on to earn his Graduate Degree in Sports Marketing from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado. He served as a college basketball coach for nine years before joining Triple Crown Sports, a youth sports organization located in Fort Collins, Colorado. Peterson was the Director of Sports Marketing during his four-year stint at Triple Crown Sports. Prior to joining the Flames, Peterson founded Make A Difference Today Inc., a company dedicated to the development of youth sports. In addition to his role with the Flames, he will be involved in the Quad City community as the Director of Basketball Operations and Marketing for Sports Town Quad Cities and as a volunteer at Quad City area hospitals.

"I'm very excited to join the Flames organization," said Peterson. "My primary goal is to provide an opportunity for our fans to enjoy the game of hockey, and the American Hockey League, at an affordable price in a fun atmosphere. We will work to continue developing a family environment and make our games a destination for all Quad City area families."

The Flames staff and mascot are available for appearances and speaking engagements throughout the summer of 2008. Players will be available for appearances upon their return to the Quad Cities in mid-September.
