
B-Sens Raise Over $135,000 for Charitable Organizations in 2007-08

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators Hockey Club proudly announced that they helped raise $135,515 for various non-profit and charitable organizations in the Greater Binghamton region during the 2007-08 American Hockey League season. The fundraising total is $30,000 more than last season's total and a new franchise record.
Some of the notable efforts from this past season were:
* The third annual Binghamton Senators Charity Golf Classic raised $20,984.00 for the Family Enrichment network.
* The 2008 Spaghetti On Ice event raised $10,097.83 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
* This year's Broome Sports Foundation auction generated $8,246.00 for the Tommy Mitchell Memorial Scholarship Fund.
* The B-Sens Veterans Day jersey auction generated $13,810.69 for the Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund.
* This year's Face Off Against Cancer netted $21,207.79 for the American Cancer Society and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
* The Binghamton Senators donated $15,943.24 worth of clothing merchandise to WSKG Public Broadcasting for a cloths drive.
In addition to the large number of fundraising events and programs that the team participates in, there are hundreds of small benefits that the organization assists with the donation of complimentary tickets or special collectors' sticks. During the 2007-08 season, more than 1,800 complimentary tickets and 100 collectors' sticks were donated to various benefits, youth groups, student-run organizations and church groups.
Over the last three seasons, the Senators' fundraising activities have assisted in raising nearly $350,000 for various non-profit and charitable organizations in the Greater Binghamton region.
