Pensacola Mayor Wiggins to Throw Out 1st Pitch

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Pelicans will welcome Pensacola Mayor Mike Wiggins to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the game on Friday, August 28. This game will be televised on Cox Sports Television, local Channel 319.

This is the third televised Pelicans game in the 2009 season. The Pensacola News Journal will be handing out a limited number of cheer cards. Fans are also encouraged to make their own signs. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative sign. Fans will have the opportunity to design their own signs at the park.

It is Fan Appreciation Weekend at Pelican Park, the Pelicans want to thank their fans for a great season. There will be many giveaways throughout the night from our sponsors. Prizes such as a gold pelican necklace, golf club, golf bag, tickets to Bayfest, duffle bags, certificates, polo shirts, CD's, and much more will be given away via the Lucky Number Page in the Pelicans Souvenir program.

The Pelicans are currently in first place of the South Division in the American Association. The Pelicans are on a push for the playoffs. With four home games left in the regular season, we encourage fans to come out and support their home town team.

Every person that buys a ticket to the following games will receive a FREE ticket to the final regular season game on Sunday, August 30. Purchase tickets online, at the box office or in the Pelicans office for games on August 27, 28, or 29 to get your free ticket.
