Wheeling Nailers News Release

Wheeling W.V. – The Wheeling Nailers announce today that due to the NHL lockout the pre-season game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Minnesota Wild has been cancelled.

Fans who purchased tickets to the game will receive a refund from their point of purchase. For example, if fans purchased tickets from the Nailers office you can contact the office for a refund, the same follows for the WesBanco Arena Box Office and Ticketmaster.

"Anytime you have the NHL wanting to play in your town it is a tremendous opportunity, it shows that Wheeling is considered a great hockey town. It is the second year in a row there would have been a NHL game in West Virginia, and we hope the NHL will look to Wheeling again in the future when scheduling pre-season hockey," was Nailers Owner Rob Brook's comment on the situation.

Fans excited to see NHL players will still have that opportunity as former NHL champions on the Penguins Alumni Team will face-off against the former Nailers/Thunderbirds Heroes on October 24th at WesBanco Arena, tickets will be on-sale soon.

The Nailers 2004-2005 season starts on October 22 in Toledo and the home opener will be on October 30 against the Storm, check www.wheelingnailers.com for other game dates. Season Tickets and mini plans are now on sale, starting at only $60 for mini plans and $261 for season tickets. Don't miss your chance to see the Nailers build on last year's historic season. For more information call the Nailers office at 1-877-NAIL-TIX or (304)234-GOAL.
