
Penguins Recall Shavertown Native Patrick McGrath

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today they have recalled forward Patrick McGrath from the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL). Additionally, defenseman Harrison Ruopp has been assigned to Wheeling by the Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL).
A native of Shavertown, Pa., McGrath became the first ever local hockey product to play for the Penguins, appearing in two games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last season.
In 24 games with the Nailers this season, McGrath has tied a career-high with three goals, and he leads the team with 73 penalty minutes.
Ruopp was reassigned by Pittsburgh to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Dec. 15, 2015, but did not appear in any games with the Penguins. The third-year pro earned two goals and two assists for four points as well as 55 penalty minutes in 23 games with the Nailers this season.
