Penguins Recall Defenseman Michael Webster

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have recalled defenseman Michael Webster from the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).
Webster has played in 29 of Wheeling's 35 games this season, posting three goals and 15 assists for 18 points, as well as a plus-10 rating. The first-year pro blue liner has put up three points (1G-2A) in his last four games. The rookie defenseman ranks third among Wheeling first-year skaters in points.
From Nov. 11, 2016 to Nov. 18, 2016, the Toronto, Ontario native had a four-game point streak, tallying an assist in each game.
Before turning pro, Webster spent four years with the Barrie Colts in the Ontario Hockey League. The 21- year old racked up 95 points in his time with the Colts and captained the team for the 2015-16 season. Webster was a warded the OHL's Mickey Renaud Captain's Trophy in 2016 for his attributes of leadership on the ice, in the locker room and in the community. He was also nominated twice for the OHL's Dan Snyder Memorial Trophy for outstanding community service.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's next game is tonight, Jan. 20, when they face the Lehigh Valley Phantoms at 7:05 p.m. at PPL Center. The Penguins' next home showing is tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 21, and their opponent will be the Hershey Bears. Less than 400 tickets remain for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's Saturday night contest against Hershey.
