Penguins Reassign Ruopp to Wheeling

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned defenseman Harrison Ruopp to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, it was announced today.

Ruopp, a second-year pro, has recorded one assist and 58 penalty minutes over 30 games this season with the Nailers, while also appearing in seven contests for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

The 22-year-old from Zehner, Saskatchewan skated in 21 matches with the Penguins last season, registering 34 penalty minutes, while collecting three assists and 42 PIM in 19 games for Wheeling.

The Nailers host the Toledo Walleye tonight at 7:35 p.m. for Game 4 of the North Division Semifinal, leading the series, 2-1.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton opens up its Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series versus the Syracuse Crunch at Mohegan Sun Arena this evening at 7:05 p.m. Children 14 and under get in FREE with a paid adult ticket.
