
Penalties Sink IceRays in 3-1 Loss

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - All the goals were scored in the first period of action as the Amarillo Bulls scored two power-play goals handing the Corpus Christi IceRays their fourth straight loss by score of 3-1 inside the American Bank Center on Sunday.
Amarillo started the scoring 2:48 into regulation on the power-play. A shot from the point taken by Karl Beckman went through the screen and into the net for a 1-0 Bulls lead.
The power-play struck again for the Bulls 12:04 into the first period as Mike Erickson snuck a puck top shelf past Anthony Stolarz to take a 2-0 lead.
With just under a minute to go in the first period Corpus Christi fell behind 3-0 as Greg Gibson scored on the short-side top shelf for his third goal of the year.
When it seemed like Corpus Christi would go into intermission down 3-0, AJ Jarosz scored with four seconds to go in the first period to pull the IceRays back within two goals making it 3-1.
Anthony Stolarz stopped 27 of 30 in the loss.
The IceRays are back in action next Friday and Saturday night as they host the New Mexico Mustangs. Puck drops at 7:05PM for both games, coverage begins at 6:50PM with the IceRays Pregame Show on ESPN Radio 1440AM.
