WENATCHEE, Wash. - The FairbanksIce Dogs scored two second-period goals Saturday en route to a 2-0 victory overthe Wenatchee Wild at the Town Toyota Center. The win knotted the season seriesbetween the clubs, 2-2.
After a scoreless first periodthe Ice Dogs got the only goal they would need less than six minutes into thesecond stanza when Sean O'Rourke scored on a shot from the point. The goal cameafter Wild netminder Greg Lewis(Mars, Pa.) made a tough save on a wraparound attempt by Gabe Levin.
Levin scored the final goal ofthe contest with 8:41 remaining in the second period on a nice individualeffort during a man-advantage. Levin led the Ice Dogs with two points (1G, 1A).
Lewis, the Brian's Custom SportsNAHL Goaltender of the Month for October, made 27 saves on 29 shots. StevePerry stopped all 20 of the shots he faced to pick up his first win of theseason. Fairbanks scored one power-play goal on nine opportunities whileWenatchee went 0-for-3.
The Wild (9-7-2) will travel toFairbanks, Calif., next weekend (Nov. 25-26) for a 2-game set against theMonsters.
