ROBBIE'S GEM!: Last night's brilliant performance by Robbie Erlin was arguably the best of his career. He had the longest outing of his pro career, tossing seven shutout innings of two-hit ball. The southpaw had whiffed nine twice last year with the Hickory Crawdads. It was the first double-digit strikeout game by a Pelicans starter, Neil Ramirez struck out nine on Opening Day. Last night marked the second time a Myrtle Beach pitcher went seven innings in a start. Joe Wieland also pitched seven in Kinston on Saturday night.

FOLLOW THE LEADER: Erlin's seven innings last night made him the Carolina League innings pitched leader with 22. He lowered his WHIP to a league-best 0.68. Robbie ranks second in the league with 26 strikeouts, one behind Kinston's Drew Pomeranz and his batting average against of .154 is third in the circuit behind Chris Hernandez of Salem and Pomeranz.

ELEVENTIES NIGHT: Going into 70's night this evening at BB&T Coastal Field, Travis Adair and Chris McGuiness are both carrying on-base streaks of 11. McGuiness extended the run last night with a sixth-inning walk, while Adair singled in the seventh and drew a bases-loaded walk in the eighth. The streaks are the longest by a Pelican this year and are the third-longest streaks in the league. Adam Abraham of Kinston had a 14-gamer snapped Friday against the Pelicans and Salem's Reynaldo Rodriguez has reached in his 14 games.
