Myrtle Beach Pelicans News Release
MYRTLE BEACH, SC - It's been well documented that working in professional baseball doesn't exactly lend itself to the healthiest of eating habits, especially during the season when french fries, hot dogs, and cheeseburgers seemingly form their own food group. In an effort to battle back against unwanted "LB's" six members of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans front office staff have formed a not so lean, but mean team which will compete in the 2nd Annual "Choose to Lose - Corporate Challenge" hosted by the Myrtle Beach Recreation Department.
For the next 12 weeks, 20 different businesses along the Grand Strand will battle against each other to see which team can lose the most weight. During the competition each member of each team will be required to weigh-in every other week to track the progress of each participant. At the end of the 12 weeks the team with the most combined weight loss will be crowned as the "Choose To Lose" Champion.
Throughout the competition the Pelicans will update their website to show how the team members are faring. Here's a look at the starting line-up for the Pelicans front office squad.
Dan "12 ounce" Kurland - Director of Ticket Sales & Services
Jim "Jambo" Fleming - Ticketing Associate
Ryan "All You Can Eat R-" Ibbotson - Radio Broadcaster / Media Relations Manager
Jess "The Body" Berkshire - Promotions Manager
Jackie "Two Ton" Crandell - Community Relations Manager
Kris "-py Kreme" Rutledge - Associate Director of Ticketing
Individual and team weight loss totals will be tallied and posted on www.myrtlebeachpelicans.com after each weigh-in from now until the end of the competition.
