
Pelicans Announce Pre-Season Extravaganza

Pensacola, FL - On Friday, April 30, fans will have the opportunity to learn baseball fundamentals from the Pelican players, purchase single game tickets, and audition for the National Anthem. The event will take place at Pelican Park at the University of West Florida from 5-8 p.m.
This event is the kick-off to the 2010 season, marking the beginning of Spring Training. This is the first chance to meet the 2010 Pelican players. Players will be on hand throughout the evening for autographs and pictures. Fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets for the most popular games, including fireworks and giveaway nights. Individual tickets are available for $7-12.
"The Extravaganza is a chance to celebrate the return of baseball. Our fans are always excited as the season nears," said Pelicans Vice President of Operations Shelley Welch. "The kids especially like to get on the field and learn from the professionals."
Registration for the free baseball clinic will begin at 5 p.m. The clinic will be conducted by Pelican players and coaches from 6-7:30 p.m. All kids ages 7-12 are invited to join in the fun.
Other activities include National Anthem auditions, mascot tryouts, Kids Club registration and t-shirt pick-up, bat boy registration, and season ticket pick-up.
The Pelicans Home Opener is Friday, May 21 at 6:45 p.m. Ticket packages are still available and start as low as $54.
