Peart Named to USHL All-Rookie Second Team
Force Defenseman Jack Peart selected to the USHL All-Rookie Second Team, the league announced today, Friday, June 25. Peart joins Force alumni selected to the USHL All-Rookie teams in previous years such as Josh Nodler and Clayton Phillips.
The Grand Forks native had an outstanding rookie season with the Force, he started and ended the season with the team after finishing his HS hockey career back home. In just 24 regular season games the St. Cloud State commit put up 1 goal and 14 assists, plus 2 more goals and 5 assists in the Force's Clark Cup playoff run.
But it's not just the numbers on a stat sheet that earned him this honor, Peart's next level hockey sense, skating ability and vision on the ice made the difference in many games for the Force this season and the team's record with him in the lineup reflects that.
With Peart in the mix the beginning of the season the Force were leading the league with an 11-5 record. His return to the team in the Spring helped Fargo claim the Western Conference Championship title and make it all the way to game 4 of the Clark Cup Finals. At just 18 years old Peart is a highly ranked player in the upcoming NHL Draft and he will skate for the St. Cloud State Huskies next season.
"Jack is an exceptional human and teammate," said Fargo Force head coach Pierre-Paul Lamoureux. "He was a key contributor to our team's success this season, he has the ability to play in every situation and proved himself to be an upper echelon USHL defenseman. I have no doubts that Jack's best hockey is still in front of him."
