Fresno Grizzlies News Release
FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno Grizzlies, Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, will begin an eight-game homestand on Tuesday, July 29th against the Reno Aces with "Peanut Free and Allergy Awareness Night". In collaboration with Baz Allergy, Asthma & Sinus Center, Mylan, and Children's Hospital Central California, the Grizzlies will be offering fans who suffer from peanut allergies the opportunity to take in a ballgame at Chukchansi Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. and gates will open at 6:05 p.m. to the general public (5:35 p.m. for season ticket holders.).
The Grizzlies contracted professional sanitation specialists Service Master to perform an extensive five-day deep-cleaning process to eliminate as much peanut dust and residue from the ballpark as possible. Additionally, Baz Allergy, Asthma & Sinus Center will be performing Air Flow Tests along the concourse during the game to monitor peanut contaminants. Sanofi, a global pharmaceutical company, along with other healthcare representatives, will be on-site to distribute information and create awareness about the severity of certain allergies.
"This night is targeted directly to those men, women, and children who otherwise would not be able to attend a baseball game," said Derek Franks Vice President of the Fresno Grizzlies. "We are happy to accommodate the needs of our fans and provide a great experience for everyone to enjoy."
Chukchansi Park will have a Peanut-Free zone along the first base side where all peanuts, sunflower seeds, or peanut-sensitive ingredients will not be served. All fans affected by peanut or other allergies are recommended to enter through Gates 2 and 3.
If you are wondering how you can help the cause by getting involved, the Grizzlies are offering two options, which include:
Option 1: Bring out at least 15 people and receive a special $12 Super View ticket along with a free P.A. announcement.
Option 2: Promote your business with a booth on the concourse for $300 and get 15 free Field Level tickets to the game along with a free P.A. announcement.
The Chukchansi Park Box Office (corner of H and Kern Streets) hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The box office will open at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday (August 2) and 12:00 p.m. on Sunday (August 3). Fans can also call the office at 559.320.TIXS for questions, inquiries, or to purchase tickets.
Fans should note that although the stadium has been washed and sanitized for this event, and peanuts and peanut products will not be allowed in the stadium, or sold by our concessionaire there is still a risk. Please take all the precautions you would in any public place.
