College Park Skyhawks News Release
COLLEGE PARK, Ga. - The College Park Skyhawks, the official G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, and Peachtree TV (WPCH-TV), sister station of Atlanta News First (ANF) and part of the Gray Media Group, Inc., announced a multi-year partnership extension today that will have Peachtree TV continue to serve as the official broadcast home of the Skyhawks for all home games played at Gateway Center Arena @ College Park for a third season. This announcement was made during the broadcast of ANF's morning news on Monday when Colli Hawk and Southside Crew dancers surprised the TV anchors with Skyhawks swag.
"The relationship that the Skyhawks has with the College Park community is tremendous and we are excited to not only be a part of that connectiveness, but to also help contribute to it," said Peachtree TV Station Manager Micheal Smith.
In addition, Peachtree TV and Atlanta News First will have a presence at both Atlanta Hawks and College Park Skyhawks games through signage, on-site activations, and much more. Peachtree TV will also join the Skyhawks in numerous community initiatives throughout the season.
"Together with Peachtree TV, we are continuing to impact our local community in new ways and to tell compelling human and basketball stories," said Andrew Saltzman, Atlanta Hawks Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer. "We are grateful to have a broadcast partner that shares our values and are excited to build on the growth that we have seen in our first seasons together."
Apart from the 2020-21 season, which the Skyhawks did not participate in due to COVID-19, Peachtree TV has served as the official broadcast home for all Skyhawks home games since the 2019-20 season, when the team first moved to College Park. Peachtree TV was recently on site for the Skyhawks' open tryouts held in September, showcasing local athletes' participation in drills and competitions to try to make the team.
The Skyhawks will open their season with a two-game home series against the Long Island Nets. The first game will take place on Friday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. ET, with the rematch set for Sunday, Nov. 6 at 3 p.m. ET. Both games will be aired on Peachtree TV on Sunday, Nov. 6. The first game will be aired at 11:30 AM ET and the second game will be aired at the normal 3 p.m. start time. Fans can visit www.cpskyhawks.com for tickets or call 404-878-3370.
