
PawSox Punch Ticket to Finals with 7-1 Win

The Pawtucket Red Sox are going to the Governors Cup Finals for the first time since 2003 on the strength of a 7-1 win over Scranton on Saturday night in Rochester. The Sox scored all 7 runs on 7 hits in the second inning. The big blow was a three run homer by third baseman Danny Valencia. Ten men came to the plate in the second.
Nelson Figueroa was sensational for 8 innings, allowing a run on 2 hits. Alex Wilson pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to nail it down.
The PawSox await the winner of the Charlotte/Indianapolis series. Game one of the finals is scheduled for Tuesday night at McCoy Stadium. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
