Pawtucket Red Sox News Release
In a ballgame that lasted 3 hours and 38 minutes, the PawSox and Tides combined for 19 runs and 31 hits in an 11-8 win. The Sox banged out three home runs in the victory. Lars Anderson belted an epic blast that actually knocked out some light bulbs on the giant video scoreboard in right center field. Mauro Gomez and Josh Kroeger also left the yard. Anderson wound up with a career-high 5 RBI. Gomez and Nate Spears had 2 RBI each. Ryan Lavarnway added three hits. Lew Ford had 5 hits in 6 at bats for the Tides. Former Red Sox utility man Bill Hall smashed a three run homer.
Junichi Tazawa (3-1) earned the win with two innings of relief. Starter Ross Ohlendorf allowed 5 runs on ten hits in 4 innings. Will Inman picked up his fourth save. Tides starter Eddie Gamboa was tagged with the loss after surrendering 9 runs on 10 hits in 3 and two thirds innings.
The PawSox (33-20) will face the Tides (21-30) on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. Brad Bergeson (2-2) faces Justin Germano (4-3).
