The New Orleans Zephyrs fell to the visiting Colorado Springs Sky Sox by a score of 8-5.
Sky Sox starting pitcher Jorge Paula (5-0) picks up another win, as he gave up five runs on four hits in five innings. Reliever Ryan Speier got his 13th save of the season, no-hitting the Zephyrs in the final inning of play.
Zephyrs starting pitcher Adam Bostick (2-4) gave up five runs on seven hits to get the loss.
What looked like a blowout early turned into a game, as the Zephyrs were down 8-0 but scored five runs in the fifth inning. Left fielder Chip Ambres hit a two-run homer after two runs scored on wild pitches. But unfortunately the Zephyrs would not score again in the game.
Despite the loss the Zephyrs still lead the series 2-1. The teams will complete their four-game set on Friday in a game scheduled for 7:00 PM CT.
