Paul MacLean and Hugo Proulx Voted Into Mallards Hall of Fame

Moline, IL-Quad City Mallards President and General Manager Howard Cornfield today announced that Paul MacLean and Hugo Proulx have been voted into the inaugural class of the Mallards Hall of Fame. Hall of Fame voting was conducted on-line via the Mallards website, qcmallards.com.

MacLean went 112-27-9 in two seasons as the Mallards head coach. In 2000-01, he led the team to a UHL record for fewest regular season losses (12) and won a Colonial Cup. The following year, MacLean's Mallards set a UHL record with 57 regular season victories. MacLean left the Mallards following the 2001-02 season to join the National Hockey League's Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. This season, with the NHL under a work stoppage, MacLean has returned to the Quad Cities to assist Mallards coach Paul Gillis.

Proulx spent eight seasons in a Mallards sweater. The Drummondville, Quebec native holds the franchise records for games played (437), points (542) and assists (329). He ranks second in franchise history in goals (213). He won three Colonial Cups with the Mallards and was a member seven squads that won 50 or more games.

A permanent display will be established at The MARK to recognize the record-breaking accomplishments of the Mallards.

The Mallards take on the Kalamazoo Wings in a two-game set this weekend at The MARK. Tonight, Mark McFarlane's number 22 jersey will be retired prior to the game with the Wings. After the game, join the Mallards at R.J. Boar's in Davenport for a post-game reception. Tickets to this event are $25 and are available via the Mallards ticket office at (309) 764-7825 or at the U.S. Cellular information table during tonight's game.

On Sunday, the Mallards host ALCOA Family Learning Day. Professionals from throughout the Quad Cities will be on hand to impart the importance of education to the youth in attendance. Gates open at 12:30 p.m. with presentations beginning at 1:00 p.m. Face-off with the Wings is at 3:00 p.m. Sunday's game also features the return of the 4 for $40 ticket package. For $40, fans receive four upper sideline tickets, four sodas and four hot dogs. This offer is available exclusively through The MARK box office.
