Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats are proud to host their annual Canadian Armed Forces Night at the Brandt Centre on Nov. 8, 2023.

"As we near Remembrance Day, we want to say, 'thank you' to those who have served and continue to serve our country," said Queen City Sports & Entertainment CEO, Gord Pritchard. "Their commitment to protecting our freedom and security is an inspiration to us all, and we are forever grateful to them."

More than 200 special guests in uniform will attend the game, and there will be special representation at the pre-game festivities, including members of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) and other military groups.

Lieutenant-Colonel Edward Staniowski, a Regina Pats alumnus, will be present to support a significant announcement on behalf of the Royal Regina Rifles Trust Fund. Staniowski joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1985 after a 10-year professional hockey career as a goalie with the St. Louis Blues, Winnipeg Jets, and Hartford Whalers. Before being drafted to the NHL, he played four seasons with the Regina Pats, where he set records for the most games played (206) and most wins posted by a goalie.

As an additional thank you for their service, Brandt is offering two free tickets to any active or retired military personnel who show their ID at the box office.

Honouring Canadian Armed Forces servicepeople is particularly important to the Regina Pats at this time of year, as the team is named after the PPCLI regiment from World War I. This history resonates with fans and the community, especially with the coveted Memorial Cup being named to honor Canada's First World War casualties. PPCLI has served Canada and Canadians continuously since its founding in Ottawa on Aug. 10, 1914.

On Wednesday, the Pats will take on the rival Saskatoon Blades at the Brandt Centre. Visit reginapats.com to pick your seat!
