
Pats to be Featured on CBC Broadcast Schedule

Toronto, Ont. - The Canadian Hockey League announced today that the Regina Pats home opener against the Prince Albert Raiders on Oct. 2 will be one of six games to be televised by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) as part of the CHL's new multi-platform, multi-year broadcast rights partnership.
"The 2021-22 season promises to bring plenty of excitement due in part to our new broadcast partnership with the CBC, an iconic Canadian brand," said CHL President Dan MacKenzie. "We look forward to partnering with the CBC to deliver the best of the CHL to our great fans from coast to coast."
The Pats vs. Raiders contest will kick off the six-game national broadcast schedule and will be one of two Western Hockey League matchups featured by CBC. Each of the CHL's three member leagues get a pair of games. The start time for the Pats home opener has now been moved from the 7 p.m. local time to 1 p.m.
"The Regina Pats are extremely excited to be one of the featured matchups on the CBC's broadcast schedule this season," Pats COO Trevor Buhnai said. "We look forward to our passionate fanbase packing the Brandt Centre once again and showcasing our team to the rest of Canada."
All six CBC games will air Saturdays in October and November at 1 p.m. Saskatchewan time:
Sat., Oct. 2 - Prince Albert Raiders vs. Regina Pats (WHL) - 1 p.m. MDT
Sat., Oct. 9 - Rouyn-Noranda Huskies vs. Shawinigan Cataractes (QMJHL) - 1 p.m. MDT
Sat., Oct. 16 - Calgary Hitmen vs. Red Deer Rebels (WHL) - 1 p.m. MDT
Sat., Oct. 23 - Ottawa 67's vs. Barrie Colts (OHL) - 1 p.m. MDT
Sat., Nov. 6 - Saint John Sea Dogs vs. Drummondville Voltigeurs (QMJHL) - 1 p.m. MDT
Sat., Nov. 13 - Mississauga Steelheads vs. Kingston Frontenacs (OHL) - 2 p.m. CST

In addition to being broadcast on CBC TV, all six games will also be available via CBCSports.ca, the CBC Sports app and the free CBC Gem streaming service. Beginning in November, CBC Gem, CBCSports.ca and the CBC Sports app will offer live streaming coverage of one CHL game per week through the end of the regular season. The schedule for these games will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
The 2021-22 CHL regular season begins September 30 as part of an exciting new campaign that features the stars of tomorrow in Bedard and Wright in addition to the return of the CHL's signature national events including the 2022 Memorial Cup presented by Kia.
