Pats Host WHL's Last Place Tigers

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats (18-24-1-1) host the Medicine Hat Tigers (9-33-3-1) on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., inside the Brandt Centre.

The Pats are coming off a 4-3 loss to the Swift Current Broncos on Monday at the Brandt Centre, in front of a season high crowd of 5,728. Connor Bedard (1G-1A), Tanner Howe (1G-1A) and Stanislav Svozil scored goals for the Pats in the loss. The Pats let a 2-1 lead slip away early, and gave up the game-winner in the third after tying it up. Final shots were 32-23 for the Pats, going 1-for-4 on the power play and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.

The Pats have now dropped eight of their last 10 games (2-7-1). Logan Nijhoff left the game with an upper-body injury and did not return while Tye Spencer was a late scratch with an upper-body injury.

The Medicine Hat Tigers come in riding a seven game losing-streak, while sitting last in the WHL standings with just 22 points. They are coming off a 4-1 loss to the Prince Albert Raiders on Monday. They've scored the second least amount of goals in the WHL (119) and have given up the fourth most (205). They have a league worst 3-17-2-0 road record this season.

HEAD TO HEAD (2-0-0)

It's the third of four meetings between the Pats and Tigers this season. The Pats last played the Tigers on December 8th at home, with Regina coming away with a 4-2 win, improving to 2-0 versus Medicine Hat this year. The win also snapped a streak of four straight home losses against the Tigers. The Pats are 2-8-0 against the Tigers over the last five seasons. Prior to this season, the Pats had dropped eight in a row vs. MH.

BY THE NUMBERS

48: Points (11G-37A) this season for Ryker Evans is 3rd amongst WHL D while also 2nd in PTS/GP at 1.09...he is the only Pat' to have played in all 44 games this season...he must play the remaining 24 games to reach 200 career...he has points in six of his last eight games (5G-6A).

43: Points (21G-22A) over Connor Bedard's last 18 games since Nov. 28, with points in 17 of those 18 contests...he is currently 1st in goals per game (0.816) while 1st in the WHL in shots (212), averaging 5.57 shots per game...he has recorded eight straight multi-point games (11G-9A-20PTS).
