Regina Pats News Release
Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats Hockey Club is proud to announce that 2001-born defenceman Neithan Salame has committed to Grant MacEwan University.
Salame, 21, played four seasons in the Western Hockey League, split between the Brandon Wheat Kings and the Regina Pats, totaling 10 goals and 36 assists for 46 points and a +28 plus-minus rating over 185 career games.
The Edmonton, Alta. native joined the Pats on January 10, 2022 after he was claimed off waivers from the Brandon Wheat Kings, who didn't have a overage spot on their roster. Salame made his Pats debut on January 18 and went onto play 36 games with the club last season, scoring three goals and 11 assists for 14 points, including one goal and five assists in four games against his former team.
"We're very excited for Neithan," Regina Pats GM and Head Coach John Paddock said. "He was a steady defenceman on our blueline last season, and we would like to wish him well in his USports career."
The Pats organization would like to congratulate Neithan on his USports commitment and wish him all the best moving forward.
A reminder, the Regina Pats will be hosting their 2022 Spring Camp from June 10-12 at the Co-Operators Centre, with on-ice sessions taking place from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on Saturday and Sunday.
