
Pats Alumnus Stephenson Heads to Stanley Cup Final

Regina, Sask. - Pats alumnus Chandler Stephenson and the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Dallas Stars in six games on Monday to advance to the Stanley Cup finals for the second time in their six year existence.
Stephenson, reaches the Stanley Cup Final for the second time in his career as he was apart of the Washington Capitals playoff roster when they won the cup in 2018, defeating Vegas. Acquired by Vegas in a trade with the Capitals on Dec. 2, 2019, the 29-year-old has produced 14 points (8G-6A) in 17 games this post-season with three game-winning-goals.
In the 2022-23 regular season, Stephenson posted his second straight 60+ point season with Vegas, scoring a career-best 65 points (16G-49A) in 81 games this past season. Now in his fourth season with the Golden Knights, the Saskatoon, Sask. product has played in 420 regular season NHL contests, recording 219 points (73G-146A). Vegas finished first in the Pacific Division, going 51-22-9-4 with 111 points.
The 5-foot-11, 190 lb. forward played for the Pats from 2010-2014, producing 89 points (30G-59A) in his final season.
The Golden Knights reach the Cup Final for the first time since their inaugural season in 2017-18. Six current Vegas players were part of the run to the Cup Final only to lose to the Washington Capitals in five games: forwards William Carrier, William Karlsson, Jonathan Marchessault and Reilly Smith and defensemen Brayden McNabb and Shea Theodore.
The Pats will have two alumni in the Stanley Cup Final with Josh Mahura representing the Florida Panthers and Stephenson dressing for Vegas.
