Medicine Hat, AB - The Medicine Hat Tigers are proud to announce the signing of Liam & Markus Ruck (Ooysoos, BC) to WHL Scholarship & Development Agreements following the Tigers Prospects Camp over May 26-28.

The Ruck brothers were selected 9th (Liam) & 21st (Markus) overall during the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft May 11th.

Liam & Markus played their U15 Prep hockey at the Okanagan Hockey Academy in Pentiction, B.C. this past season with Liam scoring 90 points (53 goals, 37 assists) in 27 games while Markus in 27 games as well with OHA scored 87 points (22 goals,65 assists).

The Ruck brothers will be in attendance during the Tigers Fall Training Camp & are looking forward to getting in some preseason games before heading off to U18 Prep hockey.

Liam says it was a true honour to sign with the Tigers organization and put on a Tiger uniform for the 1st time.

"It's pretty surreal," he says. "Obviously you dream to play in this league and being here is just awesome, it's a great organization and have a great future ahead of them."

Liam's mirror twin Markus echoed the same sentiments about his future of playing in Medicine Hat and becoming a Tiger.

"Signing with my brother is a great feeling to have and I'm super excited to get started training getting bigger, stronger & faster."

Tiger Director of Player Personnel Bobby Fox says drafting the Ruck brothers will add another dynamic group of forwards to the team's future.

"This is exciting for the Medicine Hat Tigers, you can't have one brother without the other," he says. "They're both unbelievable players, they can't be separated, they are almost one guy in essence."
