Regina Pats News Release

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats Hockey Club is pleased to announce the signing of 2023 third-round selection Cohen Klassen to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.

"Klassen appears to have the potential to be a really good all-around player," Regina Pats GM and Head Coach John Paddock said. "He skates well and will have good size. We see him playing either on the wing or center down the road."

Klassen, 14, was the Pats first selection of the 2023 WHL Prospects draft, going 51st overall. Hailing from Martensville, Sask., the 5-foot-10, 155 lb. left-shot forward tallied 61 points (32G-29A) in 24 games in 2022-23 with the Martensville Marauders, leading his team in goals, assists and points last season. His 32 goals were T-10th in the SAAHL U15 league.

"We think he's a potential top-9 forward with the ability to be a top-6 forward in time," Regina Pats Director of Scouting Dale McMullin said. "He's got a pretty good skill level, a pretty good understanding of the game and his compete level is real good."

The Regina Pats organization would like to officially welcome Cohen and his family to the Pats and to the City of Regina.
