
Pats Acquire Draft Picks in Trade with Winnipeg

Regina, Saskatchewan - The Regina Pats Hockey Club has announced they have acquired a fifth-round pick in 2019 and conditional second and third round picks from the Winnipeg ICE. In exchange, the Pats send the playing rights to 16-year-old forward Carter Savoie to Winnipeg.
Savoie (5'9, 170) from St. Albert, Alberta was drafted by the Pats in the ninth-round of the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft. He put up 73 points in 58 games with the Sherwood Park Crusaders of the AJHL this season.
"We are excited to add another draft pick to the 2019 draft," said Pats VP of Hockey Operations and GM John Paddock. "We wish Carter all the best in the future."
The Pats hold seven picks in the first five rounds of the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft, one first round pick, one second, three third round picks and two in the fifth round. The draft will take place on Thursday, May 2 in Red Deer, Alberta.
