Albany, NY - September 26, 2006 - Tonight the Albany Patroons participated in the 21st Annual Continental Basketball Association (CBA) College Draft. The Patroons entered the draft with the ninth pick and chose Brad Buckman, a 6-8, 235 lb., Forward from the University of Texas.
During the next five rounds, the Patroons chose Wes Wilkinson, a Forward from Nebraska, Taj Gray, a Forward from Oklahoma, Jimmy McKinney, a Guard from Missouri, and Gerry McNamera, a Guard from Syracuse, and Chris Copeland, a Forward from Colorado. While McNamera is currently overseas, the Patroons' maintain rights of McNamera and their 2006 draft picks for two years.
At the conclusion of the CBA College Draft, Coach Richardson stated, "I am very happy with the results of our draft, if we can bring in our number one pick we'll be ready to go".
