Somerset Patriots News Release
Bridgewater, NJ - The Somerset Patriots (12-5) defeated the Long Island Ducks (11-8) 1-0 at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday night.
Both teams remained scoreless until the bottom of the ninth inning when Aaron Dudley delivered a one-out bases loaded sacrifice fly to win the game.
"I was thinking that all I needed to do was get something up and deep," said Dudley. "He left a fastball up and I was able to put a good swing on it. I thought I hit it way harder than I did, but that wind brought it way back."
It was Somerset's fifth walk off win of the season and the second for Dudley.
Ryan Kelly (1-0) picked up the win with a scoreless ninth inning and two strikeouts. Ashur Tolliver (0-1) suffered the loss, allowing a run and three walks in 0.1 innings pitched.
The 2018 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home with a 7:05 pm game on Saturday, May 19th against the Long Island Ducks. The game features Post Game Fireworks presented by Unity Bank. For tickets, visit www.somersetpatriots.com.
