Patriots to host Parade of Patriots Monday, April 25th

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, along with the Somerville District Management Corporation, have announced that the Parade of Patriots will take place down Main Street in Somerville on Monday, April 25th at 5:30 pm.

The festivities will begin with an autograph session with all the Somerset Patriots players and coaches at Borough Hall at 5:15 pm. The parade will kick-off at Borough Hall at 6:00 pm and march down Main Street to the historic Somerville Courthouse.

At the courthouse steps, Somerset County Elected Officials, Patriots team officials, and Veterans will address the crowd in a special program designed to welcome the 2005 Somerset Patriots team and salute the US Armed Forces. Somerset Patriots Manager Sparky Lyle will introduce the entire 2005 Patriots team during the program.

The Parade of Patriots will include several organizations marching alongside the Somerset Patriots. Veteran groups, US Armed Forces members, little league teams, scout troops, marching bands, fire companies, police squads, cheerleaders, non-profit groups, mascots, and partners of the team will march with the team.

"The parade is always a great start to our season. The support from the community has been great each year and this season we look forward to introducing our team alongside the Patriots of The United States Armed Forces," said Patrick McVerry, President/ General Manager of the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club.

Fans will be able to stop by Downtown Somerville stores before the parade to pick up exclusive Parade of Patriots player cards courtesy of findsomerville.com. Fans can have those cards signed by the players throughout the parade. The card strip will be the first of three produced during the Patriots 2005 season, with two more scheduled to be released at the ballpark this year.

Following the parade, fans will be able to meet and greet players at restaurants throughout Downtown Somerville. Participating restaurants will be Mannion's Pub, Alfonso's, East Star Buffet, The Verve, and Central Pizzeria.
